Sound Healing Sessions

Welcome to my sound healing journey. I have had the privilege of working with many cancer survivors as they navigate through cancer.  Working with sound and vibrations, I have witnessed reductions in physical and emotional discomfort, dissipation of anxiety, and decreasing insomnia. Sound bathing provides a calming of the emotional distress and an easing of the physical experience often associated with cancer treatments. Helping these individuals find comfort is both meaningful and fulfilling to me.

 

I warmly invite anyone in need of support to join our weekly sound bath, Wednesdays at 6:30pm.  Private sessions can be made by appointment.

Research Proposal

I am exploring the possibility of collaboration on a pilot study evaluating the impact of therapeutic sound baths on pain, sleep quality, and overall well-being in cancer survivors.

 

I am now seeking to systematically evaluate these effects in partnership with an academic researcher. A brief research abstract outlining the project aims and design is available upon request.

I believe this could be an excellent opportunity for community–academic collaboration, with potential to generate preliminary data for larger trials and contribute to the growing evidence base for biofield and integrative health interventions.

Research on Benefits of Vibrational Sound Healing 

Implications on how sound can be beneficial to healing and cancer patients. It was concluded that there is a hemodynamic (blood flow), neurological (nervous system), and musculoskeletal (muscular system) response when vibrations are applied. It affects each system differently.

  • Hemodynamic (blood flow)

    • Stimulation of endothelial cells which are in charge of releasing substances that help blood clotting, immune function, and vascular relaxation.

  • Neurological (nervous system)

    • Stimulates protein kinase (regulating biological proteins) activation, and also includes nerve stimulation. 

  • Musculoskeletal (muscular system)

    • Sound healing helps muscle stretch reflex and bone progenitor cells which replace old damaged cells with new healthy ones. 

Music is a simple and easy intervention that has minimal to no side effects. This simple and straightforward approach can be used in a variety of patient types in an array of acute care environments. The use of music has added benefits in that it can positively impact not only pain but also other variables, such as anxiety, muscle tension, and mood, that can be negatively affected by hospitalization.

The effects of singing bowls on human health were investigated in four peer-reviewed studies, one of which investigated patients with metastatic cancer, and another those with chronic spinal pain. Low-level designs were used in two studies. Improvements in distress, positive and negative affect, anxiety, depression, fatigue, tension, anger, confusion and vigour were reported, as were improvements in blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, peripheral capillary oxygen saturation, cutaneous conductance, and anterior-frontal alpha values.

A single sound intervention in patients with cancer exerted beneficial effects on cardiovascular parameters, especially HRV and PWV. Both parameters indicate an impaired vascular function, due to an enhanced sympathetic tone, as in the context of chronic stress exposure. In comparison, these effects were not observed during a rest intervention, which suggests that sound interventions are capable of significantly reducing stress levels. Our data suggest, that sound intervention may have the potential to benefit cancer patients in terms of reducing stress levels and beneficial impact on the course of tumor diseases, and should therefore be studied further as a complement to conventional anti-cancer therapies.

The feasibility endpoints (acceptance, attendance and compliance) were achieved; personalized programs should be offered to patients at risk of rapid worsening conditions and to subjects affected by bone metastases. A visual tool for subjective distress appears more appropriate than validated questionnaires. Useful tools for collection of objective data are SCL, HRV, and anterio-frontal EEG. Tibetan Bowls decrease anxiety, arousal, involuntary mental activity and stress. Larger trials should confirm these results.

postoperative rehabilitation, and tinnitus. Also, it can be used as adjunctive therapy with standard cancer treatments. This review

article discusses the importance of sound therapy and the pioneers' use of sound strategies to heal. The review also highlights the

frequencies generated by different body organs and how to detect diseases based on changes in these frequencies. Furth
